About Us
Poseidon has been diving and teaching in Sri Lanka since 1973. We have a great reputation for safety, professionalism, and friendliness. Our dive centers offers various diving experiences, from beginner courses to instructor development. We have 4 instructors, 3 trainers, and 1 course director. PADI open water courses start daily, and other courses are available upon request. Course materials are available in multiple languages. Divers can also take specialty courses to enhance their skills.

Our Milestones
1973
Poseidon Diving Sri Lanka Starting
Poseidon Diving Station was founded in 1973 by S.K. Nandasena, Sven Holmberg, and Bertl Magnusson. Sven and Bertl visited Sri Lanka and met Leslie, an excellent skin diver who became their guide. Impressed, they trained in SCUBA and opened the first dive shop in Hikkaduwa.
1998
Joint with PADI
Poseidon Diving centre was registered as a PADI Dive Centre (S-19272) with Chami Sembakuttige as its principal instructor and has since grown but maintained the same friendly and professional reputation.
2004
PADI Five Star
In 2004 we were recognized by PADI for our achievements,high standards and contribution to community and environment, and became the first PADI Five Star Centre in Sri Lanka.
2010
Trincomalee Diving Centre
Starting Poseidon Diving East coast branch at Nilaveli Trincomalee. This branch was the first diving center to open in the area after a 30-year civil war. Trincomalee has a natural harbor and whales. Nilaveli has white sand beaches and a marine park.
2013
Sri Lanka’s first PADI Instructor Development Centre
After nearly 40 years of training divers, in 2012 we became Sri Lanka’s first PADI Instructor Development Centre.

50 Years Celebration
We celebrate 50 years our excellent service.
