PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification

The PADI Advance Open Water Diver Course is designed for certified Open Water Divers who are looking to learn new diving skills and venture into deeper waters. During this course, you will complete five adventure dives, including a deep dive and a navigation dive. The other adventure dives include drift diving, wreck diving, and night diving. As you complete these dives, you will gain more experience, improve your buoyancy control, and master new diving techniques. Once you complete the course, you will be certified as a PADI Advance Open Water Diver, allowing you to dive up to 30 meters.

What are the qualifications do you needed to do the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver?

To enroll in the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course, you need to be at least 12 years old and have completed the PADI Open Water Diver certification or hold a qualifying certification from another organization. You also need to be in good health and have a reasonable level of fitness.

 

Theory Parts in PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course

The theoretical part of the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course includes five knowledge reviews, which you must complete before taking the related practical dives. The dives include deep diving, navigation diving, night diving, peak performance buoyancy, and a choice of underwater naturalist, boat diving or underwater photography.

Practicals for PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course

The practical part of the course involves completing five open water dives to consolidate and expand on what you learned in the theoretical section. At Poseidon Diving Centres, we provide you with an experienced instructor who takes you through the course step by step. The practicals include deep diving, navigation diving, night diving, peak performance buoyancy, and a choice of underwater naturalist, boat diving or underwater photography.

Course Schedule

Day 01

Usually begins with some paperwork and orientation.
If you complete the theory via eLearining you can move to 2nd Day Schedule .

Day 02
it’s time to take your newfound skills into open water! You’ll head out to a dive site where you can put what you’ve learned into practice under the supervision of your instructor. This is where the real fun begins as you explore vibrant coral reefs or stunning underwater landscapes.
Day 03
Day 3 is all about building confidence and refining your techniques. You’ll have more open water dives scheduled, allowing you to further develop your diving abilities. Your instructor will be there every step of the way, providing guidance and support as needed.
Day 04
By the end of the course, which typically lasts around three days depending on location and individual progress, you’ll have completed both theory sessions and practical assessments required for certification. It’s an incredible journey that opens up a whole new world beneath the surface!

What can you learn in the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course?

The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course teaches you new techniques that build upon the skills you learned in the PADI Open Water Diver course. You will learn how to navigate underwater using a compass, how to dive deeper safely, how to maintain buoyancy control underwater, how to use a dive computer, and how to perform night dives. Additionally, the course offers you the choice to learn about either underwater naturalist, boat diving or underwater photography.

What can you improve after completing the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course?

Upon completion of the course, you will be a more confident and competent diver. You will be able to navigate underwater using a compass and dive deeper safely, which will enable you to explore parts of the underwater world that were previously inaccessible. Additionally, you will have improved your buoyancy control underwater, made nighttime dives and used a dive computer. All of these skills make you a more advanced diver and open up new opportunities for your future diving experiences.

Where you can follow PADI Advanced Open Water Dive (AOWD) Course in Sri Lanka?

This course is available at all Poseidon Diving Centres. Poseidon diving center is the first five-star PADI diving center in Sri Lanka and has been in operation for 50 years. AOWD certification is available at the best price in Hikkaduwa (October to April South Coast) and Nilaveli Trincomalee (April to September East Coast).
